Earthworker is setting up an Australia-wide network of community owned cooperatives, beginning with Eureka’s Future, a worker owned factory to manufacture high quality solar hot water systems in Morwell, in the heart of Victoria’s coal-burning LaTrobe Valley.
Through our partnerships with small local businesses, we are producing components of our first solar hot water system. Every unit that we sell now builds our capacity to manufacture more of this system's components ourselves, and brings us closer to opening our own 'Eureka's Future' worker-owned factory in Morwell.
Come and celebrate and find out more at a community BBQ at Federation Uni Churchill Campus!
Workers at Federation University's Gippsland Campus at Churchill are some of the first to have the Earthworker Clause in their EBA, which allows them to purchase an Earthworker Solar Hot Water system as part of their negotiated wage increase. With Churchill just down the road from our proposed factory site in Morwell, what better place to start?
So, join us for a promotional community BBQ at the Churchill campus on Wednesday from 12pm-1pm – all are welcome to attend.
We'll be joined by staff and students, and representatives from our valued supporters: the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU), bankmecu, the Mining Division of the CFMEU, and the United Firefigher's Union (UFU). Come along for a chat, a feed, to find out more, and let others know.
