Grafting Day at the OAA Organic Centre - (UNDER COVER)

Rootstocks and scions will be available at low cost for a large range of fruit trees and plants. A very economical way to start or increase your orchard.

OAA members will graft your trees, or you can purchase scions to have a go yourself - or take home and graft onto existing trees.

Demonstrations and grafting from 1 o’clock onwards.

In 2011 Peter Vaughan’s orchard at Wombat Creek was severely damaged by wildfire. He has rejuvenated the trees by grafting scions onto the trunks. Peter will be speaking at the grafting day on this process and his results. Peter will offer a demonstration of grafting onto a mature tree as part of his presentation.

People are encouraged to bring scions of rare but clearly identified varieties of apple, pear, plum and cherry varieties, to share.

Propagating material of other useful plants will also be available (tubers, bulbs, herbs, potted fruits, cuttings of grapes, figs, kiwifruit).

The OAA bookstore will be open, and the library.

Tea and coffee will be available.

All welcome - not limited to OAA members!
