This is a meeting for the members of the Reference Group for the Sustainability Gippsland project (this web tool) of which South Gippsland Shire Council are the lead. At the meeting we will be going through the current features of the web tool and features that are planned for next iterations. We will have a discussion around if there are any essential aspects missing from the site and also do some testing of an online meetings/presentation tool and have a discussion around including it as part of Sustainability Gippsland.

Heidi I have a meeting of the Gippsland Waste Group on Thursday. My concerns are that the processes on the site are still essentially top down from organisations to people. I believe we need the capacity of people to organise bottom up and or laterally between groups on issues of concern to them and others. This is essential if the collaborative crowd sourcing approach is to be facilitated. This could be facilitated by having an ability to organise around networks-issues that are directed at people and cross-organisationally. For instance an individual may want to organise an informal network - issues group around community renewable energy or CSG etc.. The structure is still too much web 1.0 and not 2.0 which allows for individual collaboration and networking around common issues.
