Agnes River Landcare Tree Planting Day Agnes River Landcare Tree Planting Day

What started as a blank patch of paddock (see pic) is now flourishing with over 56,000 trees growing high in the gullies. These gullies have had lots of attention over the past 15 years as they feed into the Agnes River, passing platypus and hopefully many other precious elements of our local ecosystem on its way to Corner Inlet.

Join us on Friday Aug 26 at 10am to add to this impressive number of plants and be satisfied that you have become part of quite a legacy. Contact Bryan Watterson: 0428 555 067 to register and for directions and catering.

An information evening for all who’d like to know more about its course from a trickle in the hills to the mangroves of Corner Inlet – and all the activity that is being done along its banks to improve its health.

At 5pm Lisa Kennedy will lead a Deep Listening Session at the Sculpture Circle on the river, inspired by her vision and book The Earth Speaks. At 6:15 Dan Garlick from WGCMA will present on past and future works on the Agnes River encompassing fencing, revegetation. Opportunities with Landcare will be explored by Kate McKenzie from the South Gippsland Landcare Network. Bryan will give some insights into what it takes to revegetate 50 acres – it can be done!
