GTBB is excited to offer a free community garden workshop on ‘Growing Top Quality Food’ on Sat 6th April from 10 - 12 at the George St Garden.

Jim Armstrong will talk with us and provide information on how to improve the nutritional quality of the food we grow. Jim also encourages you to bring along samples of your home grown fruit and vegies. He will test for sugar content, dry matter and nutritional value and suggest ways to make changes.

Don’t forget to join us for a yummy morning tea and a dig in the garden – all welcome, no experience necessary!

Create Wayfinders; A Create Arts Project

Create Wayfinders: a Create Art Workshop Join ceramicist Jessie McLennan for a unique opportunity to design and create tactile ceramic panels and a wayfinder map to be installed at the new Warragul Community Garden. These visual and attractive panels will be tactile and easily understood, and will ensure the Community Garden is more accessible and welcoming to all people in our community. The wayfinders you will be making are to be set within the garden as cues that there is a turn in the path for those with vision impairment and as visual stimuli for all who gather in the garden. Jessie McLennan will run seven workshops for only ten participants to design and develop ceramic Wayfinders and a ceramic Wayfinder map that will become sculptural assets to the Community Garden for years to come. This project was funded by Victorian Regional Arts Fund and Growing Together Baw Baw Community Gardens Network Wayfinder Workshops will be held from 9am – 12pm on Monday 6th October, 13th October, 20th October, and 27th October. Wayfinder Map Workshops will be held on Monday 2nd February, 9th February, and 9th March. Held at the Warragul Community Garden in Eastern Park Warragul (enter off Cambridge Drive) Cost is $35 for the all the workshops To book contact Donna Hallam treedin@iinet.net.au 0407873681

Finale and Début Working Bee

Join us for the grand finale working bee.

This is the last working bee available to us before the Great Community Garden Launch on October 26th. We need all hands on deck to help us complete all those little jobs left to do, then we can truly showcase our garden and all the hard work that everyone has put in to achieve a truly amazing space.

There will be plenty of fun and laughter, plenty of delicious food and lots of opportunities for you to put your mark in the garden.
