We ask everyone to gather at The Glade (open grassy area on The Esplanade) at Inverloch wearing articles that are about hot weather: orange/red/yellow clothing, sunglasses, hats, floaties, bright zinc cream etc.

Bring a sign that says '(place name) wants Climate Action and we will have some materials there on the day. Also bring a picnic, rug, water, the dog, your grandmother, the people next door.

At midday we'll gather for a group photo and add it to GetUp!'s collection of other regional towns and cities around Australia who will be doing the same.

If you're a GetUp! member, you can RSVP on their website for this event. Or check out www.getup.org.au for more information. If you're on Facebook, like us at South Gippsland Climate Picnic.

See you there!

Inspired by GetUp!s National Day of Climate Action, we have created this event to add our South Gippsland towns to over 100 locations around Australia calling for more action on Climate Change. People will gather wearing hot colours: red, yellow, orange and be part of a big group photo, holding aloft signs clearly stating that 'Inverloch wants Climate Action' or 'Fish Creek wants Climate Action'.

This is certainly an event where People Power rules. Come one, come all. Bring the dog.
