Help shape a better Bass Coast
These are some of the questions we are asking our community over January to help Council develop our direction over the next four years. This will be an opportunity for all of us to shape a better future for Bass Coast. We believe our community must be active participants and collaborators in the development of our future plan.
Do not miss our face-to-face engagement sessions and pop-ups at local events; get on board with our social media exchanges; or come and have a coffee with a Councillor so we can hear your thoughts.
Listed below are some dates and locations we’ll be engaging with people across the Shire and online over the next month. We need your input, so please join the conversation.

Congratulations to the Southern Gippsland Sustainability Festival for receiving a highly commended at the recent Keep Australia Beautiful Tidy Towns Awards. The festival is co-organised and hosted by South Gippsland and Bass Coast Shire Councils. Save the date of 3 April 2016 for next years great event.
In another successful partnership between Bass Coast Shire Council and South Gippsland Shire Council the Civic Meeting Space (including Council Chambers) now has more efficient lighting and an efficient heating and cooling system. This work was undertaken with the help of the Federal Department of Industry and Science grant of $124,693 shared between the two Councils. The project is expected to reduce the energy use of Bass Coast Shire Council by 57.4 tonnes of CO2-e (greenhouse gas) per year. The new heating and cooling system is zoned which means that the temperature in individual meeting rooms can be controlled independently. A switch to LED lights has also increased the level of energy efficiency in this area.
Bass Coast and South Gippsland contributed combined amount of $74,170 to the project.
